The Brooklyn Comedy Company is proud to present the 10th installment of the web series TWiB!. After completely ignoring the 2nd presidential debate (and recieving a few emails about said ignoring), comedian Elon James White takes time to explain himself. Sorta.
Everyone has their threshold. I’ve just reached mine. Thanks to AmericaBlog for pointing me to this and this. Also a hat tip to TPM Election Central.
John “Country Last” McCain and Sarah Palin held some truly hate filled rallies on Monday. Here’s a montage from McCain’s hatefest 2008
During this rally, a McCain supporter answers the question posed by Senator Country Last, “Who is the real Barack Obama?” The unmistakable answer: terrorist!
McCain says nothing.
From The Washington Post and AmericaBlog on Palin’s rally:
“Now it turns out, one of his earliest supporters is a man named Bill Ayers,” Palin said.
“Boooo!” said the crowd.
“And, according to the New York Times, he was a domestic terrorist and part of a group that, quote, ‘launched a campaign of bombings that would target the Pentagon and our U.S. Capitol,’” she continued.
“Boooo!” the crowd repeated. “Kill him!” proposed one man in the audience.
Palin went on to say that “Obama held one of the first meetings of his political career in Bill Ayers’s living room, and they’ve worked together on various projects in Chicago.”
But the current political environment does not excuse remaining silent when a candidate for president is referred to as a “terrorist” in your presence. A desire to win does not excuse remaining silent during a threat on the life of a U.S. Senator at one of your rallies. There are no excuses for evil such as this. John McCain and Sarah Palin, the GOP and all who support them have lost all rights to legitimate argument. They are liars. They are wrong. They are evil. Yes, evil. They are one small step short of inciting violence at their rallies. They are letting physical threats go unchallenged.
I was at Obama’s rally at Independence Square in Philadelphia back in April. When he mentioned Hillary Clinton’s name, the crowd booed, and he told them to stop. Barack Obama intervened when his supporters booed his opponent. He called for civility. Yet, when faced with supporters who label senators terrorists and call for their assassination, John McCain and Sarah Palin said nothing.
This is how evil spreads, from domestic violence to genocide. People in a position to stop it choose to do nothing.
John McCain is obsessed with his own honor. No one believes in the myth of the maverick as thoroughly as he does. He’s called for civility in campaign tactics while lying about Obama’s position on sex education. That’s ok. It’s politics. If he weren’t a bit of a hypocrite, I would get suspicious. But the man who would make his name synonymous with honor stoked hatred in his rally today and let one of his senate colleagues be referred to as a terrorist.
We know what America does to terrorists.
And while Obama and William Ayers served on a board together, this is nothing like McCain’s pro-terrorist history. He voted repeatedly to protect domestic terrorists who bomb abortion clinics. He counts as an “old friend” one G. Gordon Liddy, an ex-convict who served time for the Watergate break-in, plotted to kill journalists, firebomb a think tank and called for violent resistance against the U.S. government. While Obama and Ayers’s relationship is minimal and old news, McCain was on Liddy’s show this year during the campaign and has accepted $1,000 from him as recently as February. So who’s the terrorist?
Now to Sarah Palin.
This simple-minded, overwhelmed, frightened, delusional nitwit thinks she’s doing “big things” by going on “the attack.” She presumes to challenge Obama at his level as if she had earned her position rather than having been selected by an old white man for the job. She is filled with pride and self-adoration. She is a fool.
Palin would know about “paling around with terrorists.” She fornicates with one.
A few weeks ago CPL posted a story which seemed plausible but couldn’t be verified. It said Palin was a racist. While the specific truth of that story is still unsettled, the pattern is clear: this ticket is painting Obama as the “other” and someone to be feared. This campaign is counting on stoking prejudice and racism. The McCain-Palin campaign is grotesque and dangerous. They are picking up where Hillary left off, but have gone much, much farther. They are presiding over hate rallies where people feel free to yell out murderous threats, and the candidates smile it off and keep going, essentially endorsing such mob mentality.
I want to know who still supports this ticket. I want to know because if anything should happen to Barack Obama. If he so much as slips on the jetway or stubs his toe playing basketball, I’m holding John McCain and Sarah Palin responsible, and I’m holding those who vote for them responsible for doing nothing to stop an atmosphere of violence. Enough is enough.
Those of you who have retained your soul and your senses, I ask you do to the following in response to this insane and hate-filled campaign.
Spread the word about McCain and Palin’s dangerous beliefs and outlandish hypocrisies. Send these to your undecided or right-leaning friends in swing states.
Pray, meditate or otherwise send positive vibes to protect Obama and our country from these forces of darkness masquerading as legitimate political candidates.
Don’t be one of those people that recognizes wrong and evil and does nothing to stop it. We are all responsible for creating the world we want to see. Let’s go about doing that.

So the Katie Couric interview with Sarah Palin is making the rounds and, of course, everyone talks about how she seems stupid, and is obviously not ready to be near the presidency in any shape, form, or fashion.
Um . . . after I wrote that last sentence I just realized there wasn’t really anything else fo me to say on the subject. She seems stupid and well . . . you get my point. But I’ll try to push forward anyway.
Even if there wasn’t an audible collective cry from every woman in the United States when the McCain camp pander-picked Alaska McMoosekiller over there, there still was a collective eyebrow raise. A lot of people, it seems, tried to give this pick an opportunity to show itself a wise one. The historic first Republican vice-presidential female candidate is something that a lot of people didn’t want to turn their nose up at. Ah, but alas. Now people have no choice but to turn their nose up to it because of the pure horseshit that it’s turning out to be. It’s stinking up the entire presidential race! John McCain is pulling out emergency tactics to delay the VP debates, all the while he’s at risk of seeming like he’s being an unstable coward. The McCain camp obviously thought about the possibility of that and weighed it against the field day that would be had over Palin’s folksy debating style and still decided to go all in.
When Palin talks, she has the uncertainty and wide-eyed inflections that George Bush has exhibited these past eight years. Forget her ability to act as vice president, I’m starting to second-guess whether she is really capable of acting as governer of Alaska. She believes she’s keeping an eye on Russia! It’s as if someone told her that her job there is way more important that it is and she bought it hook, line, and sinker. She thinks she’s America’s first line of defense. “If they get by Alaska, we’re all dead!” I imagine her sitting in her office with binoculars looking toward Russia. Then immediately sitting down at her desk writing in her My Little Pony “Keep America Safe” notebook.
“All good today. Couldn’t see any nuclear weapons pointed our way. Yay!”
There was a statistic that came out of the AP/Yahoo Poll on race and the Election. It stated that one third of democrats were racist and had negative feelings towards black people. Of that one third, 58 percent still stated that they would vote for Barack Obama. Do you understand what the republicans are doing here? They are scaring white people SOOOOO much that they are looking past their everyday racism and voting for a black man, simply because the alternative is too scary. Any negative feelings they have are being outweighed by the sense that the white alternative would be absolutely bonkers. I imagine that this is happening on the republican side as well. That 90 percent voting with GWB will scare anybody who’s actually paying attention.
Kudos, Sen. McCain. You seem to be bringing that change that you all of a sudden keep talking about. Thanks for bringing racists over to the Obama side.

As you might have heard, Senator John McCain has supposedly suspended his Presidential campaign in order to head back to Washington to handle the budget crisis that has befallen the country. The same crisis that had befallen the country LAST week. But now that he’s down in the polls and has a debate coming up where he could get his ass handed to him, it seems like a really good reason to call a “Time-out” and deal with the future of the country.
“I am calling on the president to convene a meeting with the leadership from both houses of Congress, includingSenator Obama and myself,” McCain told reporters in New York. “It is time for both parties to come together to solve this problem.” - John McCain
Really. NOW it’s time? Last week when people were crying and losing their proverbial shit, that wasn’t the time. With the government talking about going straight socialist on everyone’s ass, THAT wasn’t the time either? Oh, but when polls now show Obama with a 53 percent lead over McCain’s 39 percent, NOW EVERYTHING MUST STOP. STOP I SAY. SERIOUSLY – GET WITH THE STOPPING ALREADY.
McCain is playing a very strange game in this 2008 Election. His campaign strategists are keeping EVERYONE on their toes. First with the Sarah Palin pick (insulting to women but some how a pick me up for the campaign.).Next, the absolutely outrageous attempt to try and tie Obama with Franklin Raines, and now the cancellation of one of the most anticipated debates in recent history because all of a sudden he has to get back to Washington?
Americans should say HELL NO to this supposed emergency cancellation.
This is a great ploy, to make it seem that McCain is more about COUNTRY than campaigning, and maybe this would have been reasonable LAST WEEK. This isn’t a coincidence; the polls and the stop request. Imagine in a heavy weight boxing fight one of the contenders asked for a break because of some medical issues that he had been dealing with before the fight, that he KNEW about, but now that he’s been punched in the face a few times and is losing on the score cards, NOW he wants a break.
Thats not how this works, McCain.
He KNOWS this isn’t how it works. But it’s a great strategy. Obama either goes along with this, McCain looks like a leader in crossing lines to stop crisis and slows down the Obama momentum or Obama says “Go FUCK yourself!” The McCain campaign says that Obama doesn’t care about the country. He’s more concerned with winning an election than protecting our future.
Nice work McCain. You’re really showing me, and a lot of Americans what we DON’T want in the White House. There’s only but so many tricks that can be pulled out of the bag before people start freaking out. Eventually the tricks will get old (cough, Palin, cough) and you’ll be standing there wondering what happened.

It seems that P.Diddy aka Sean “Puffy” Combs akaCiroc Obama(is this guy fucking kidding me?) is quite upset with John McCains pick for the Vice President. If you check out Mr. Diddys video blog you can see clearly (well not so clearly. I don’t know what the hell this dude is doing with the camera) that he’s fucking insane… frustrated. He’s made a very clear argument that he loves McCain and wishes him a long life (am I a bad person because I don’t wish that? I dont wish death but I’m not hoping for an additional 20 years. I look at it like he’s in his victory lap.) but Diddy thinks he’s “bugging the fuck out.”
“You should have got Michelle Obama to be your running mate.”- Diddy
What? WHAT?WHAT ?!?!
Listen. I’m anti the Sarah Palin thing as well(shocker) but what Diddy is doing right now is hurting Obama more than anything the republicans can do. Middle America is watching this and thinking to themselves “Wait, this is the Obama supporters? This guy? Fuck that. GET McCAIN IN THERE IMMEDIATELY.” Seriously Mr. Combs, I’m going to have to ask you to respectfully shut the fuck up. You’re not helping. CIROC OBAMA? Did you use Obamas name in a shameless plug of your high priced premium vodka?
I will accept the Sean Combs has some sort of savvy. He’s accumulated a great deal of money so he must know SOMETHING. But guess what he doesn’t know? ANYTHING ABOUT POLITICS. (I’m not even getting into his ideas of Black peoplein Alaska or their crack head population)
Or…
Could it be that Diddy is savvier than I’m giving him credit for? Is it possible that Diddy was at his home in the Hamptons and heard the news of Sarah Palin’s Vice Presidential nomination and was like “Dear lord, what sort of pandering nonsense is this? Obviously Mr. McCain wants to woo the women who feel disenfranchised by the Democratic Party and feels this embarrassingly blatant move will net him some sort of voter surge. I cannot, no; I WILL NOT stand for such an obvious ploy to skew this presidential election! I will take my objection to the young people! But wait, they may not understand. They may think since I’m almost 40 years old and insanely rich that we have nothing in common what so ever. OH BUT WAIT! I could use modern technology to my advantage! I can create a video blog and speak to them in the language of the urban youth! They will relate because they will think I am like them and speak in their ignorant dialect!”
