Riley, a Native American with a history of alcohol and drug abuse was brought to the hospital on July 8, 2014, by her husband after threatening to commit suicide. When Riley found a fillet knife under the car seat, her husband ran into the hospital for assistance. She has a knife and she wants to kill people.” Police arrived on the scene and through a combination of body and dashboard cameras we see the brief yet lethal exchange between Riley and police.
To date there has been no reprimands issued to officers Michael Valenzuela and Garrett Johnson nor has there been any apology or settlement with the Riley family.
