100 Unanswered Questions on #LOST

» 25 May 2010 »

I’ve had a quiet anger just under my surface ever since ABC’s LOST took 2.5 hours of my life and crapped on my intelligence. I know, I know “It’s about the characters!” And to that I say “burn in hell.” If I wanted “characters” I’d watch Grey’s Anatomy. I watched #Lost because there was a magical island with smoker monsters and evil scientists. Oh, there were some characters that I found very entertaining while they were fighting the smoke monster and evil scientists, but that wasn’t what I signed up for. Check this awesome video that I reenacted almost verbatim at 11:37pm Sunday night.  (H/T Fahnon Bennett )

Elon, that is the exact same thing i told my co-worker. I am not watching Lost to be enlightened..i watched cause the island did kooky stuff.

i actually stopped watching it after the end of the 4th season but committed myself to the finale. what a waste!

I find it hilarious that the producers decided to take the higher than though stance of “Its about the characters” when, if it WAS the show would've been set in LA and probably canceled in the first season. What floated that show was supernatural intrigue. i'm gonna have to let this go at some point…

I will have to agree here: I was a huge fan when the show first started but the last series were pure crap.

Yes, you are going to have to let this go. After spending 2 full days pissed about this, I've concluded that they threw all the sci-fi shit in to keep the attention of everyone that has higher than a 3rd grade education…you know, because most television shows assume the audience only has a 3rd grade education.

That ending was a damn cop-out. I wasted 6 seasons of my life for some new-age jesus juice in a dirty bottle, a reworked Cain & Abel story and “the 10 people you meet in heaven, eventhough there should be more, but it sucks for them.”

The show really jumped the shark for me when the island became unstuck in time. But, I kept watching because people kept telling me how carefully the writers planned the whole series and that it would all make sense in the end. They kept pointing to the numbers. Remember the numbers? The numbers that were _everywhere_ for about 2 and half seasons? The deeply meaningful numbers? That played absolutely no role in the finale.

And I thought nothing could piss me off more than the Battlestar Galatica finale…
