New Show Seeks To Highlight Black Progressive Voices With Straight Talk and Humor
Creator of the award-winning webseries “This Week in Blackness” debuts new show on the progressive TV network Free Speech TV.
Berkeley, CA, April 18th, 2014 – Critically acclaimed writer/comedian Elon James White will debut a new offering on the non-profit progressive television network Free Speech TV. A Black Show with Elon James White will feature a unique mix of commentary, interviews, sketches, and more in the trademark voice that White has brought to the national stage through “This Week in Blackness.”
“I’m really excited for this project,” said White. “Progressive media often lacks in the diversity that’s supposed to be one of the tenants of progressivism. A Black Show… will bring necessary but oft-ignored marginalized voices to the progressive media table. “
A Black Show will feature commentary from the “This Week in Blackness” line-up including award-winning author of the book Right to Ride Dr. Blair Kelley, political strategist and President of the Brooklyn NAACP, L. Joy Williams, Senior Legal Analyst for RH Reality Check Imani Gandy, White himself, and many more.
“We’re thrilled to add A Black Show with Elon James White to our weekly programming lineup,” said Ron Williams, executive director of Free Speech TV. “Free Speech TV is committed to airing thoughtful, hard-hitting, and entertaining shows that also educate and inspire our viewers. Elon James White does all these things and we’re confident his show will be a success.
A Black Show will premiere April 25th, 2014 at 11 p.m. Eastern.
