“Slap Hillary” SuperPAC: Because Violence Against Women is Hilarious.
Try as they might, Republicans can’t stop punching themselves in the face when it comes to outreach to women. During last year’s election cycle, the stupid fell out of Republicans’ mouths so fast and so furious that the Susan B. Anthony List decided to give the GOP a talking-to, essentially telling them to shut up about rape and abortion already. And just this year, House Republicans blocked the Violence Against Women Act before finally being shamed into passing it.
When they’re not opening their mouths and making cringe-worthy statements about rape, rape victims, and violence against women, the GOP is busy playing, “I Know You Are But What Am I?” when it comes to lady business.
Remember Cathy McMorris-Rodgers and her stupid claim that Democrats are scaring women with all the “war on women” talky talk? Or how about the Hillary Rosen/Ann Romney flap when Republicans tried to pretend that Democrats were waging a war on working mothers? Or how about Reince Priebus’s claim that the “war on women” was about as real as the “war on caterpillars”?
Hell, just three days ago, the GOP issued a press release claiming that the fuckery of Anthony Weiner and San Diego Mayor Bob Filner is somehow an example of Democrats’ hypocrisy:
Democrats want voters to think they’ll do anything to defend women. But when women in San Diego were allegedly harassed, marginalized and exploited by a Democrat mayor, most Democrats said nothing.
When a Democrat candidate for mayor in the nation’s largest city was caught — not for the first time — acting like an Internet predator and sending nude pictures to young women after repeatedly lying to his constituents, most Democrats said nothing.
Democrats’ hypocrisy is appalling. And with their silence, they are sanctioning the actions of Bob Filner and Anthony Weiner and numerous others who have assaulted, harassed, and preyed on women.
That’s not mentioning the Weiner campaign official, who went on a tirade against a female intern while she was talking to a reporter (thinking it was off the record), attempting to shame and humiliate the intern by verbally attacking her as a “slutbag” among a long list of other offensive, sexist, and demeaning terms. This is how Democrats really talk about women when they think no one will find out.
Since the GOP is so concerned about demeaning women and misogyny, surely they will take swift action against these motherfuckers right here:
A Republican Super PAC prominently features a game on their website that allows users to slap former secretary of state and possible 2016 presidential candidate Hillary Clinton across the face. The game is being hosted on the website for The Hillary Project, an anti-Clinton Super PAC that lists its address in Nashua, New Hampshire, according to FEC filings, and has Christopher M. Marston, a Republican campaign finance consultant and former member of the Bush administration, as its treasurer.
The website states that the game was “Created and produced by The SlapHillary Team,” and began spamming reporters to its existence Monday with the tweet, “Have you slapped Hillary today?”
Nothing says “outreach to women” like a game that calls for beating up one of the most prominent women in politics.
I’ll be over here holding my breath, waiting for a GOP press release condemning this misogynist bullshit.
