TWiB + ABLC = More Blackness, Same Shenanigans
Why, hello there. It’s your friendly neighborhood Angry Black Lady. I’m pleased to announce that Angry Black Lady Chronicles has merged with This Week in Blackness and Jack and Jill Politics to form what will likely soon be known as the Black Justice League of the Intertrons.
In addition, starting next Monday April 22, I will be the new co-host of TWiB’s morning show “TWiB! in the Morning” with Brooklyn NAACP president, political strategist and closet-twerker*** L. Joy Williams.
This is an exciting move for me. I started ABLC in January 2009, won the Black Weblog Award for Blog to Watch in 2010 and then in 2012, I won Best Political or News Blog. While I suspect that Elon asked me to join his new Independent Black Media Empire so that I wouldn’t beat him out for the 2013 Black Weblog Award (*ahem*), having spent time with Team Blackness at the DNC in September of last year, guest hosting TWiB periodically last summer, and joining Team Blackness for debate and election commentary during the election season, I decided joining TWIB Nation (along with the geniuses behind Jack and Jill Politics — Baratunde Thurston and Cheryl Conti) was just good common sense.
So here we are! Settling in to our new home, stocking up the liquor cabinets, hiding scotch bottles like Easter eggs, and looking forward to this new venture.
Expect the same shenanigans that we popularized at ABLC, but with added blackness and slightly more twerking. My co-bloggers and I are thrilled to be here, but if you touch the liquor cabinet, there’s a pretty good chance one of us will set you on fire.
***I can neither confirm nor deny the twerking allegations.
