  1. Peoples,
    Good show
I’m impressed with the reason level of this show. very interesting and well informed.
IMHO that’s something of a novelty in the media.
I was disquieted by the extreme stance taken on Twib’s other show about the NCU (in that they are pro rape to that I’d say hey guys, come on.) and Zimmerman’s attorney’s plea to the court and calling him a murderer.
I actually wrote a comment pointing out the problematic nature of such extreme calls. But having just heard your show I realise that such a comment would be superfluous given the combined common sense and knowledge of the three of you.
A few points of interest, food for thought
energy drinks…. one of the problems with them is that they are also being used as mixers for spirits like Vodka. To add to the problem these are being used as ‘clubbing primers’ i.e. down 3-4 Before going to the club to get a buzz( the booze is often extremely expensive). Another factor that can be in the mix is taking party drugs(E). The combination is frightening. Para medics say they are seeing more and more of this trifecta.
Re the (‘black face’)black slave to St Nicholas (father Christmas, Saint (good king) Wenceslaus et al ) is common to many nations versions. It is historically correct at that time black slaves were common and many historic (medieval) sources depict and state this.
One needs to be careful about rewriting history…God knows whitie has been doing that for ever.
Look at it like this as far back as Arian’s Alexander the Great (circa 200) the question of offensive culture is discussed.
In that instance Alexander came across some Nubians who were appalled by the Greeks burying their dead. When asked their practice they said ‘eat them’. Both were appalled but who is right? Culture when all is said and done is a societies response to the environment in which they live.
I grew up between 2.5 cultures( American,Australian and Toalai[one of 800 cultures in PNG]and as such I don’t believe than any is more right than the other, just different.
It’s a case of when in Rome Do like the Romans don’t insist on being a Gaul or Nubian.
Look at it from the other culture … Who is this American wanting to change OUR culture because it offends their sensitivities. It’s called Cultural Colonialism.
That doesn’t mean they don’t understand your concern any more that a foreigners ARE offended By American’s ‘cultural arrogance and bombast’. One clear example of this is the way Americans use the metaphoric Megaphone (press releases before the meetings) when dealing with Asians.
The Good ole USA isn’t Nirvana on earth nor is the American way always the best way to achieve delicate matters.
    Just a thought or two
    Cheers EA
and keep up the high quality.
