  1. Hey, I just want to say that as an educated nuanced progressive white boy, I think I might be able to pull off a valid This Week In Whiteness podcast. Hear me out. The show would generally be about planning ahead for progress to take hold and for racism to actually be dealt with before white people become a minority.

I’d still report on stupid racist things that some white people say and point out those things as bad, just as TWIB does. I wouldn’t say that we are anything but privileged for being white, however, being white (even when we have minorities for friends!) leaves us very ignorant and blind to the problems with racism, even when it’s biting us in the ass.

For example, when conservatives equate the poor with minorities and push legislation against welfare assistance and then drop racial stereotypes into their arguments, not only do they get a backlash of minority groups protesting their motives, but TWIW would would throw an additional contention of “Hey, white people are poor too fucker!”

IDK, I know it would be walking a fine line, but I feel like these dweebs need to just get what they want, This Week In Whiteness, White History Month, etc, and then to have it thrown in their faces that the message of such a thing is that white people ARE privileged and that white people ARE human just like everybody else.

White History Month should include an emphasis of the genocide caused by Columbus or the idiocy of the Johnson Administration. Also, TWIW should emphasize the reverse role example of what racism and stereotypes do to minorities. Such as, “no one white person speaks for every other white person,” and “just because someone makes a white history month doesn’t mean that no one is allowed to make a Chicano History Month or an Asian History Month,” and so on.

The hope would be that it could bring perspective to white people rather than just to pretend like there’s much of a perspective that’s significant to white people. Aside from a lack of perspective of what it’s like to be a minority, there isn’t much else that white people as a majority share in common.

(Oo, maybe even just call it White-Boy History Month and talk about some cool rebellious crazy white boys like Nirvana or something. Note to self: try to use the word ‘cracker’ as often as possible)

  2. What is the name of the song played on the outro? LOVE IT!
